It almost slipped past me, but we're now in the midst of our 4th annual Montifax Blog-off.
I'm sure that our regular readers are very excited about this. Not only is the blog-off a period of time when I try to post more than usual, but it also tends to be the only time of year when Neil comes out from hiding and posts on the blog.
Be sure to check back regularly throughout the month as we will be doing our best to make the most out of competitive blogging.

Perhaps the blog-off scoring could be reported better if it were reported both in terms of "blog" and "points". If Neil were to be entitled to six blog-off points for his first blog, the result would read: Neil: 1 post, 6 points . . . or something along those line.
There's no need to confuse thing like that, and saying 'blogs' for 'posts' certainly wouldn't clarify anything. Furthermore, I'm assuming most of our readers can divide by 6.
I believe you incorrectly assume that all readers are fully aware of a) that there is a blog-off in progress, the duration of the blog-off, and/or b) how the "points per blog" works (meaning tht Neil receives six blogging credits for each blog posted). Thus, I feel it is incumbent on the scorekeeper to include a statement, a disclaimer if you will, at the end of each blog that explains what is going on with respect to the aforementioned.
Again, I think you don't know what the word 'blog' means.
And if people don't know that the blog-off is on going that is fine. I don't want to the scoring to be too distracting for those who are uninterested.
And if you have raised valid points I am not really interested in changing the way scores are displayed at this point in time.
